Jodi specializes in environmental and health and safety regulatory compliance, product regulatory compliance, and environmental and health and safety issues arising during corporate and real estate transactions. She has diverse experience representing industrial and commercial clients in matters involving permitting, enforcement, and ongoing compliance management issues arising under federal and California environmental, land use, and health and safety laws; multi-party site cleanups; and real estate and corporate matters involving acquisitions, divestitures and loans. She also assists clients with environmental risk management strategies, including pollution legal liability insurance and FIN 47 reporting obligations.
Her California regulatory experience includes air quality permitting, compliance and enforcement, all aspects of hazardous materials and hazardous waste management, contaminated site remediation, Proposition 65 issues involving both product liability and environmental exposures. Jodi also has extensive experience with redevelopment of contaminated property.
Jodi has represented domestic and foreign corporations regarding compliance with federal and California environmental laws before U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic Substances Control, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, County Departments of Environmental Health, California Air Pollution Control Districts, and the California Air Resources Board. Jodi also worked for a national environmental consulting firm for over a decade prior to attending law school, and for two years following graduation from law school. During this time, she performed environmental and health & safety audits for numerous air force bases and national parks, as well as assisting industrial clients with compliance-related issues. She also has extensive experience with environmental laboratory quality assurance/quality control issues.
Prior to joining Environmental General Counsel, LLP, Jodi practiced environmental law at Sedgwick, Paul Hastings, and Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell.
Jodi chaired the State Bar of California’s Environmental Law Section and currently serves as the Chair of the Bar of San Francisco’s Environmental Law Section.
